Hector Avalos: No Judgment Day on May 21

John Loftus has posted a link to the following article on his blog by Dr. Hector Avalos regarding Harold Camping's prophesied date for Jesus' Second Coming and the Rapture of the church as May 21, 2011. Loftus and Dr. Avalos are atheists but in this case they agree with scripture that Harold Camping is a false prophet. Jesus said

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. - Matt 24:36-44

This isn't the first time Camping has made false prophesies of the end of the world. He said the same thing about 1994 and 2000. We just need to heed what Jesus said.

Camping has been refuted in public. Look at this.

THE APOLOGETIC FRONT: Daniel 4:34-35 and the Sovereignty of God

Mike Felker has posted a really good article on Daniel 4:34-35 and what it says about Sovereignty of God.

“But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.
“All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’” (Daniel 4:34–35)
I completely agree with Mike because if you believe the rest of scripture, what other conclusion is possible. God certainly showed Nebuchadnezzar who was in charge. Personally, I'd rather learn from his experience instead of experiencing that lesson first hand.

Al-Qaida's Head Osama Bin Laden Dead

Who say President Obama has failed to deliver all of his campaign promises? I seem to remember he promised his administration promising get Osama Bin Laden - either dead or alive. May 1, 2011 it's been announced that the US military has done exactly that - killing Bin Laden with very few casualties. Definitely a win for the Presidential administration. It was Obama's call, given the information he had, whether or not take the risk of sending elite troops to kill Bin Laden. Here is Obama's speech

This is not just about avenging the thousands who died September 11, 2001. Make no mistake, given another chance Bin Laden would have attacked the United States again and we had to get him so that no one else thinks they can attack the United States with impunity. Also given the past week in American politics, this is even sweeter. Donald Trump and the tea baggers and some Republicans have been criticizing and calling Obama's abilities and character into question - not just his policies. They forced the President of the United States to provide a Birth certificate!? And then insinuated that he only got the opportunities he's had because of affirmative action and didn't deserve them. They went as far as demanding he provide this transcripts and grades! Why? Because he is African American and they are doing all they can to discredit him. Given all of this, I was really impressed with Obama's speech Saturday night at the White House Correspondence Dinner. I watched the look on his face. It was a look of victory and triumph and I though that it was because he was finally able to respond to those morons and put them in their place. He pawned Trump in public and he told the truth!! It was priceless. I see now it was even better than that. Obama already knew at that point that Osama Bin Laden was dead and they had the body (If I understand the timeline correctly) or he already knew the operation was on its way. He just sat back and let them ignorantly say what ever they wanted and Sunday night came the whammy. It could not be any better.

I knew Obama was a good politician, but I had no idea how much of a poker face he has. I would had been sprung this on Trump a lot sooner. Some people have said that Obama is the worse President ever. I disagree. I mean you have to give the man some props for this one. He certainly isn't the worse and I don't agree with everything he does or says, but I wouldn't agree completely with any President. C'mon, lets try to be fair. A lot of Americans are celebrating...and I'm just waiting to see what the Republicans are going to say about this. I know it's early but some candidates for memes are already making it around the internet!
